Part 2 of Gatlinburg, Tn

Every year the Parker Family gets together in June. My cousin makes the arrangements. Usually, it is somewhere close so that all 110 of us (+ 3 more are expected to join the Parker family  this year or early part of next year) can plan to come. We mostly plan for middle Georgia since it is the middle for most everybody but occasionally we may venture out of the state. 3 years ago we went to the beach in FL, this year we went to Gatlingburg, TN and in the year 2013 we will go on a cruise.
There were  about 15 of us that went a few days early to enjoy what Gatlinburg had to offer and  the rest of the family would come Friday.
Here is where we all stayed for the first few days.

It may not look like much but believe me it was plenty big. It was on the side of a mountain so there were 3 stories to it.

This was the view off the back porch.

First full day in Gatlinburg

Mom, my aunt, Laney, Ella and me decided to go to the Apple Orchard. After walking around, we had some of their yummy apple cobbler with caramel sauce and ice cream.

We left from there and went to the Tanger outlets. Hey...what would the trip be without some shopping. Besides, we had to do it before the men got there.

After a full day of shopping, we headed back to the cabin for tacos before going to church.

Thursday, June 10

Since we had big plans for the night, we decided to make use of the pool during the day.

You can't go to Gatlinburg without seeing a show. Since we had kids with us we decided to go to The Comedy Barn. Now if you ever go to Pigeon Forge, Tn  and are looking for good clean humor for the family this is the show to see. What makes it even better.....kids go for free. You can't miss it just look for this...

a big barn.

They have music, a ventriloquist, animals adopted from a shelter do tricks and plenty more.

During the break, the kids could come and pet the animals.

Towards the end of the show they let the kids get on stage.
Ella raced down there. She loves to perform.

All the ones who went to the Comedy Barn.

After the show we went to a nearby Mexican restaurant for supper.

While waiting to be seated we had our own comedy show.

  1. I love the Apple Barn! Love those apple fritters and I always buy a jar of apple butter to take home.
