Disney Princess Expo

On Friday, We went to pick up our race packets at the Expo. Since there were over 26,000 people participating in the races that weekend, we had to catch a bus from Downtown Disney to the Expo.

Once we had picked up the packets, we walked around the Expo.

There was a wall with all of the participants names.

I found mine!

There was a table set up for the family members to make a sign for their runner.

Make sure you read some of the comments Ella wrote to cheer me on!

We did not get to stay long because we had to meet friends at a baseball game.

In our packet was our bib number, the 2013 Princess shirt, button, tattoos(which Ella still has on her face after a week), a protein bar and an instruction manual.

I was excited and ready!

Disney World

This past weekend My family, sister and nephew headed to Disney for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I am planning to tell you all (in detail) about the race. Before I do, I thought I would share our fun day. We couldn't go to Disney without going to Magic Kingdom. The last time we went was when Ella was 2 months old.......she is now 7. She was probably the most excited!

We were planning to go Friday but my sister had a stomach bug so we postponed it by a day. We quickly learned Saturday was the day everyone else planned to go to Magic Kingdom as well. There were over 26,000 people participating in the races that weekend so it was very crowded!

There was a wait for the shuttle!

We decided to take the Ferryboat over there and ride the monorail back.

After standing in line to get our passes activated, we stepped inside to the most magical place on earth! Every time I go to Disney, I feel like a kid again. I get so excited to be there!

We headed towards Adventure land to begin our day.

(I promise Ella was happy to be there.......she was not happy with me wanting so many pictures)

Fantasyland is the newest part of Disney.
It is probably where we some of us spent most of our time.

After lunch and the Goofy roller coaster, we decided to split ways for a while. Ella really wanted to go to Under the Sea and Enchanted Tales with Belle. The older ones wanted to move on to bigger and better more mature things. My sister took them and Carmel, Ella and I enjoyed the newest scenery.

It was a 75 minute wait for Ariel's ride.

Next up was Belle!

Right around the corner was It's a Small World.

This was also where we met up with the rest of our crew!

We had just enough time left to go to Cinderella's castle, join in a street party and eat before the Disney's Electrical Parade.

Since we were all going to have to get up at 3 am for the race, we decided it would be best to attend the 7:00 electrical parade.

We did not get to do all the things we wanted due to the crowd. That's okay though........ the kids and I will be going back this summer! We can hit all the things we missed then.

Our Special Dinner

I know several of you have been on the edge of your seat waiting for the special dinner post that was promised the next day. Well....... preparing for a consignment sale, a trip to Montgomery, a trip to Disney and running in a  1/2 marathon all in the same week......... kind of kept me busy!

I know it's late but here was our special Valentine's Day dinner as promised!

Our table-scape was filled with colors of red, pink and white.

To make each family member feel special, a name card and gift accompanied the place setting.

On menu consisted of:

Garden salad topped with heart carrots, heart cucumbers and heart cheese

Heart pepperoni pizza

Raspberry Ice Drink

The gifts were small but heart felt.

Daddy got a calendar to take to work. He said he needed current pictures for his desk. I thought why not have a new one to look at each month!  On the front it says, "Thanks for keeping us safe! We love you!"

For the grand finale:

Homemade heart brownie with a side of heart shaped strawberry ice cream and a dollop of whipped topping all topped with a drizzle of chocolate.
