Thanksgiving 2012

We spent the week in SC doing a little cleaning out at the in-laws and visiting with family.

This is the stuff that doesn't last long........ Mac and Cheese.

While we were in SC, Carmel, Griffin, Laney and I ran the Lake Murray Dam. It is a total of 4 miles. I was a little worried about Laney finishing but she did. I was so proud of her!

I was able to get a quick shot as we were leaving town.

It was a nice run at night but I bet it's an even better run during the day.

Saturday, we left and headed to North Georgia for the Annual Parker Christmas Reunion.

Here is our family minus Rebecca and Ashton( he had the flu).

These are all my mom's brother and sisters.

We took a break from photos to play on the playground for a bit.

This was Laney's first year to go Black Friday shopping. She had been talking about it for the past month. I decided to let her go because I needed her for a mission almost impossible........the $19.99 boots at Belk. She succeeded and scored these plus another pair. I think I  finally got her out of the flip flop stage.

After playing outside a bit, we went back in for presents. The kids open up their gifts(brought by the parents) while the adults play dirty Santa.

Ella got an AG outfit to match the one she was wearing.

That night we spent the night with some friends. I was to tired to take any photos.

The next day after church, we went to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family.

My Granny
She has been sick but was able to get out a bit so we could visit.

Our furry little child was spoiled this year by several.

You know your a good big brother if you let your sister's doll cozy up to you and let your mother get a picture of it!

The kids opened up presents at Granny's while the adults played dirty Santa.

Ella got another AG outfit to match the one she had on and Laney......well...she got her favorite thing

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Fishers Of Men Graduates

For the past 12 weeks, Carmel, Griffin and I have been taking a Fishers Of Men class. For those of you who are not familiar with Fishers of Men, it teaches you a better way to approach a non Christian and how to conduct a bible study. There are so many(including myself) that have a fear of talking about God. Whether its the fear of rejection, avoiding conflict or lack of knowledge, God is usually not at the top of the list for conversation starters.

We should want to talk about him........daily. There are so many that do not know him.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20,

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

We I should not be afraid because I am told  He is with me always, even to the end of the age.

I will..........

study to show myself approved(2 Timothy 2:15)
talk about God more,

conduct more bible studies,

bring others to Christ.

If you ever have the opportunity to take this class, I would strongly advise to accept.

It is a lot of work.........but isn't God worth it?

At the end of the 12 weeks, we had a graduation dinner.

It was yummy!

Our teacher, Mr. Tim and his wife presented us with a fish hook pin.

No Stuffing Turkey Party

This past Saturday, we got the kids together for our first No Stuffing Turkey Party. I know what your thinking...........What in the world is a No Stuffing Turkey Party( try saying that 5!). Well........while most people stuff turkeys this month, we stuffed bears for the sick children at a local hospital.
Once the kids arrived at the church, they could choose a station.

We also had sewing and tying bows.

He are some pictures of my kids hard at work.

I wasn't really sure how Ella would do at sewing. She enjoyed it and.....well......the bear was closed by the time she finished. With a little practice, I think she could do really well!

Here is the group of kids that did such a great job!

Once we finished, we loaded up and headed to the hospital to deliver all 46 bears.......yes read right........we ended up with 46 bears!

It is always fun to get together.......especially when the purpose is to be a Good Samaritan!

Cupcake onsies

I thought I would share with you the Cupcakes I made the other day.

Ever since I saw this idea, I knew I wanted to try it for the next baby shower.

It was a shower for a boy so I found these cute onsies along with the socks. I added a pack of month stickers to help capture the memories of her babies growth.

I placed it all in a cute cupcake box with a see through top.

A Saturday in Tiger Town

This past Saturday, we went to Auburn, Al to visit with family and go to the game.

Since it was homecoming, they were having a special activity next to the camp site. We decided to check it out.

It's not everyday you get to see a catfish.

This was my dad's favorite part........ the auction. He's the one in the Auburn hat sitting right behind the only girl not in AU attire.

I was trying to get my dad to wave to me. He was so rude and wouldn't wave back..........I think it had something to do with the bid @ $1000. I stopped waving when a lady approached me and  told me I was the $1000 bidder.

Making our way to the stadium.

This is to prove why people choose to have there picture taken with the field in the double chin action!

After the game, we played some football and bean bag toss, ate and laughed.
