Jog-A-Fun

Well Jog-A-Fun has come and gone again. The kids did great! Not quite sure how they compared to last year. I think they did less laps because I had to pay less this year!

Ella raised $106

Doesn't she look like she has it rough?

I think she caught onto the fun part more than the jogging part of Jog-A-Fun.

Laney raised $166

At least Griffin knows when to put on a show for the camera. He stopped soon after I took this.

Griffin raised $163

Thank you to Pop, Nana and Becca for your support!

Just call her Red Hot Lips

and teeth!

Ella decided to help herself to something to drink.

She comes to ask me a question and trouble is written all over her lips. She decided to whip up one of those drink packets with water.

Hopefully, by now you noticed what went wrong. If not, then we will investigate further.
The cup in the picture is close to an eight ounce cup. The packet on the other hand is meant to be mixed up in a two quart container.

If you do the math:

1 stick per 2 quarts of water = tasty drink
1 stick per 8 oz of water = knock your socks off red lips

Maybe next time she will seek advice from the wise one........her mother people!

Many hours of hard work

A couple of posts ago, I showed you what my dining room table looked like the week before the L2L Convention. I thought I would share with you the results.

The theme this year was "We'll work 'til Jesus comes".

Throughout our book we used owls.

I had a fantastic group of hard workers this year!

Every year the scrapbook team is asked to do a personal page for the book. Here are the pages my 3 kids provided.

We won 3rd place this year!
Thank you to everyone who helped put these memories together!

Now.......I better get that table cleaned off before next year rolls around!

L2L 2012

For the past......umm....too many to count.....years, our family has participated in Lads to Leaders and Leaderettes Convention in Atlanta. It is a lot of work but worth it! My kids have or are learning to overcome fears that I still have not addressed. My stomach does somersaults when I get up in front of just a few people.
My 6 year old stood on stage this year in front of probably 50 women and 30 girls to lead a song. This was her 3rd year to do it!  Shoot....last year my middle child had the guts to get up in front of ladies and lead Paradise Valley (definitely not an easy song)! My son...well...he is the reason it's too many to count. His first year to participate was when he was in 2nd grade...he is now in 10th. Today, he will lead a song, do a devotional or speak in front of our home congregation. I truly believe it is due to the training that comes from L2L. I am slowly learning to face my fears.

If my kids can do it then so can I!

Just a few highlights from the weekend.

Ella participated in Oral Bible Reading, Song Leading, Scrapbook, Good Samaritan, Know the Books and Centurion of  Scripture.

Laney participated in Song Leading, Good Samaritan, Know the Books, Puppets, Scrapbook and Bible Bowl.

I would show you several pictures of my son but it wasn't cool for him to be seen with his mommy and daddy (except when it was time for food).

So here is one of him during the Bible Bowl. He also participated in Good Samaritan and Scrapbook.

My parents were able to come with us this year.

My dad may just upgrade from newspaper Sudoku to this

Here is all the participants from WRCoC.

We had a great time and look forward to next year!

A glimpse into the week before L2L........

For the past 5 years, this is basically what my dining room table looks like the week before L2L.

I am in charge of the scrapbook for the convention. The kids do the pages and I get to put it together. That is no easy task! Lots of guidelines to follow!!!

And my hubby says we never use the dining room table!

Who says you only have to eat on it????

Easter Egg Hunt at church

Right after church, we had a picnic lunch.

While the dads were hiding the eggs, the kids watched one of the L2L puppet teams perform.

Yes...that would be my child choosing to sit in the high chair.

The Easter Bunny came to escort the kids to where the hunting would begin.

 Let the hunting begin........

After their baskets were filled with eggs,  we took a a couple of quick pictures with the Easter Bunny.

In the next picture, we added our neighbor who attended with us.

It was such a pretty day for a hunt!

The cotton candy sugar high

After a fun evening at Chuck E Cheese, my sister needed to run into the store for something.

While the mom is away........

the big cousins spoil the little cousin with half a bag of cotton candy.

I tried to stop them but the cuteness got to me.

How could I say no when this little girl looks up at me and says more totton tandy.

I am sure at some point my sister did it to my kids.
