Eno......It's the new hammock!

For several weeks at the beginning of the school year, Griffin kept telling me he and his buddies were going to eno.

I had never heard that term before!
Had no idea what it was!
My first thought, "What does this term really stand for?"

I don't know why he just didn't say hammock. That's what it basically is! I guess that term is old school now.

Note to self: Google new terms/inventions so I can stay hip and current!

So......we bought him one for his birthday.

He was so sweet to include a lesson on the new way of getting into one of these things. I have included a step by step guide(pictures included) on how to get in one of these things.

Step 1: Place you hands on each side of the eno.

Step 2: Slip one foot in one side of the eno while balancing on the other.

Step 3: Without loosing your grip, quickly place your other foot on the opposite side.

Step 4: CLOSE THE ENO QUICKLY BEFORE YOU FALL OUT!!!

Step 5: Twist the eno in the upright postion.

Now you can relax!

Getting out.........your on your own!

I think I could have stayed in there all afternoon...........that is.......until I heard the sounds of "I'm next!......It's my turn!" The moment was gone!

All three of my kids in the hammock eno together! I eat up these bonding times!!!

That is until one realizes she has feet and butts on her!

Sharing + eno = priceless!

Cell

Nope this post is not about........

a cell phone!

It's going to be about those tiny things located inside your body.

Laney chose Human Anatomy and Physiology for our science curriculum this year. We started out talking about the history which eventually led into cell anatomy. Apologia Science does a really good job with making harder topics easier to understand.

I thought I would share a little of what we learned from this chapter.

At the beginning of the chapter, we discussed the History of  Anatomy. When we were on the topic of Ancient Egyptians, we learned how they believed in preserving dead bodies. We tested out that belief with an experiment. We cut an apple into equal pieces and placed them each in an individual cup. We weighed  and added specific ingredients to each cup. After several days of sitting on the counter, we checked to see the results. One particular apple did not change much in weight or looks. Most of the others dried up and shriveled.

I cut out a replica of a cell. We used this in several lessons to help learn each part of a cell and their job.

Once we discussed DNA, I knew the girls would love making this.........

I got this idea off of pinterest.

We did do a few other activities but I forgot to take pictures.

We have left cells  and have moved onto the Skeletal System. Can't wait to share what we create in this chapter!

Auburn Homecoming

Although we did not go to the game in yesterdays post, it worked out for us to go to the very next home game. My dad had 3 extra tickets so the girls and I loaded up in the jeep(top down I might add) and headed to AU.

Top down = blown hair.........unless you bring back up!

It was so hot at this midday game! I think I continually sweated until we were finally in the shade!

Since it was homecoming, they let everyone one the field after the game!

For whatever reason Ella did not want to take picture! I think it is apparent in a few photos!

I took this picture from the stands looking down onto the field.

I remember when they used to let people onto the field after every game.......of course, people used to tear down the goal post too!

Auburn Tailgating

My sister and her family came down a few weeks ago for an Auburn game. Since they do not get to come down very often, the whole family made plans to travel to Auburn.  My parents have a reserved RV spot for all the home games. There is nothing better than to experience game day tailgating!

Some people like to get others fired up before the game! This truck drove around playing Auburn's fight song and screaming "War Eagle!"

 We kept it low key!
The gamecock fan in our family didn't do any hollering but instead offered 2 little girls Harley rides.

One little girl may grow up to be a biker chick. She wanted to leave with the biker dude later in the day!

I don't know how ice cream trucks always come find us.........right before supper!

Leave it to the aunt( yes...Rebecca) to spoil their supper!

We ate an early supper and just enjoyed each others company.

Notice how Emma is still working on her fast melting chocolate ice cream. We should have put her in Rebecca's lap!

Before the game, I tried to get a few pictures of the kids.

We quickly realized stacking wasn't working!

Neither did the pyramid!

Hugging.........nope!

Are you noticing how one child is always missing from each of the above pictures?

However, I did manage to get a few good ones!

Since I did not have any tickets prior to the game, I decided at the last minute just to take all the kids back home so my sister and her hubby could enjoy the game!

Halloween Activities

I am going to combine all our Halloween/pumpkin outings into one.

It all started with a pumpkin carving at church.

Our finished pumpkin!

Next up was Trunk or Treat. Nothing too exciting! Laney decided to pass out candy with someone else, Griffin hung out with friends, Ella went treating at each trunk and I was left to pass out candy......alone! So here is the only  picture  I took from that night!

Last activity was Halloween.

Since we are staying with my parents who live out in the country, we decided to trick or treat in a neighborhood down the road.

I have tons of costumes........back in Ga! Luckily, Ella brought her princess/pageant dress. For Laney, we put a couple of pieces together to make her a cowgirl. Maybe I will be on top of things next year!

We had to stop at the front door of my parents before heading to the neighborhood.

The girls racked up this year! They got polish, bottled water, bags of chips, Auburn/Alabama pens, and lots of chocolate. Normally, we get more hard candy than candy bars............not in this upscale neighborhood!

I was just glad to see that people were passing out more than just sweets!
