NYC Girls Trip Day 2

Day 2 began with some breakfast from a market down the street. Next, we walked across the street to board the boat that would take us to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

We walked around admiring the Statue and taking lots of pictures. We wanted a picture of the four of us so we asked a friendly spectator to take one. This was the first picture on my camera.

I thought it was funny that he cut off half of Liberty. Thankfully, he took several.

A few other shots we took.

We also took pictures in front of Lower Manhattan.

While at Ellis Island, we took the audio tour and watched a video on the history of the immigrants.

Once we were finished here, we headed back to a cafe near our hotel for lunch. After lunch, we went to our room to rest and change clothes. We had a busy long night ahead of us.

That evening, we went to Bar Americain( Chef Bobby Flay's restaurant) for dinner. This is a popular pre-theater spot. I had the fried chicken with black pepper biscuits and greens. The chicken was tender and had just the right amount of seasoning.

After dinner, we walked over to the Gershwin Theatre to see the Broadway show Wicked.

It was EXCELLENT!
You can definitely tell the talent between broadway and other musicals!
I am so glad we chose to see Wicked

Since were so close to Time Square, we decided to walk through to see the nightlife. The lights were great to look at but the crowd was heavy, drunk and loud. Once we saw the naked flag painted ladies, we were done!!!

No painted ladies in this picture! You can see a tall green Statue of Liberty in the background.

As we were walking, we saw a crowd with their phones in the air. After a little investigating, we heard it was a boxer. We moved on.

Once we reached the end, my sister hit her Uber app and a driver was there to pick us up. If you are unfamiliar with what a Uber is, it's basically a taxi but better! You have an app, you click the app to request a driver, the closest driver takes the request and picks you up. Payment is made through your account so there is no cash involved. Both parties can rate each other online. It is quick, convenient, and cleaner than a taxi or the subway. We used one several times while we were in NYC and I prefer it to the other options.

After a long day, we were glad to finally get in the bed!
