Normally, for Valentines I would have made something special for dinner with a thrown together table scape. That was not the case this year. This year we huffed down a hotdog so I could watch my kids do this instead.
Writing cards to those who are sick, need encouragement/prayers or have lost a loved one.
I would choose this anyday!
Our church has MNM(Monday Night for the Master) once a month. We gather at the church building to write cards to those who need it at that time. This month it just happened to fall on Valentines Day.
Now don't feel to bad for my kids. They still had a fun-filled day and treats from their parents and grandparents( Thank you Nana and Pop!).
This next part is just a bonus. I wanted to do it in a separate post but let's face it.......... it is just easier to add it to this one.
This was my board I did for this month.
I cut Hershey's candy shapes from poster board. The kids could pick either a hug or a kiss. The hugs were painted with brown and white stripes. The kisses were painted all brown.
This next one could be a gift for next year. I made it for a teacher's gift.
I made a cookie bouquet. I made heart shaped cookies(baked with the sticks in them). I dipped one side in melted chocolate and drizzled it with white chocolate. Once they cooled, I wrapped them in a clear bag and finished it off with a tied piece of curly ribbon. In a container, I placed styrofoam to hold the cookies in place. I covered the styrofoam with shredded paper. Very inexpensive but a cute idea.
I made a candy bouquet for my loving husband.
