I got this doughnut maker last Christmas and have not used it yet. When I saw this recipe strawberry glazed doughnuts, I knew I wanted to try it.
So I whipped up the ingredients......
and baked them in the doughnut maker. This little thing was fast and easy to use.
Next came the best part......adding the glaze.
Mine did not turn out as pretty as the ones in the picture. When I read the reviews(something I have found to be very important), people commented on the same thing.I used whole white wheat so that may have changed the color.
I thought these doughnuts were tasty. I am not sure why there was salt in the glaze. I think I will leave that out or not add so much next time. The salt taste stood out to me and I did not care for it. I also added some of the leftover strawberry mixture to the glaze to give it a stronger strawberry taste.
YUM! We have their waffle stick maker, and we LOVE it. Brian (he's the pancake/waffle baker at our house) always makes extra to freeze. I then just reheat them in the maker again when we want them (after defrosting in the microwave). Super easy and very functional machines! I didn't know there was a donut maker. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it has been sitting in my cabinet for almost a year now. I have several recipes I want to try!
