Griffin has had his new car for several weeks now and loving every minute!

Of course, he is BROKE......penniless.......no moo-la...... but why should that matter when you can ride in style!

Paris themed room.......almost!

If you are a regular on here then you know that I am s...l...o...w...l...y working on Laney's Paris themed room. She has had several decor pieces, bed spread, etc for quite a while now. I am finally nearing the end! YAY! All that is left is the painting projects. I have  2 dressers and a desk to paint. I wanted to buy used so that I could add the Paris touch without destroying expensive new pieces. I will post the progress of that later. For right now, I thought I would share her new daybed and a few other new decor pieces.

 She got the Paris frame for her birthday almost 2 years ago( see I told you it has been a long time in the works!). The 2 iron dress pieces were a gift from Santa this year.

I kept the lamp stand from one we already had, bought the black shade and added the trim.

This has been the sleeping arrangements ever since she got her bed.

(The dresser in the background is one that needs to be painted.)

We had to get the bed with a trundle so little sis would have somewhere to sleep.........even though she does have her own room!

A visit from the RVers

My uncle, my aunt and my parents are on a rv trip making there way across 4 states. Our house was their first stop. Although, it was only a 3 day stay....it was packed with tons of fun!

We ate at the rv and then headed back to our house to watch the Alabama game. 

We went to one of Griffin's basketball games.

We went to the Air Force Museum.

Of course, I could not let them leave without a home cooked meal.

I know that they are having a blast traveling to their different destinations.

I know this because I am sent several text a day telling me what they are doing and eating(pictures are always included).

New Years Day 2013

In years past, we have eaten the traditional New Years food somewhere other than our house or at home with our intimate family. Most of the members in my family are not big on black eyed peas or greens. I would usually open up a can and tweak it a bit. This year since we had family come to our house, I had to step it up a notch. Here is what I came up with........

They were all good! The corn salad was by far everyone's favorite. It is soooo yummy!
We also had ham, pork ribs, hashbrown casserole, cornbread and for dessert caramel pie.

Some of us ate at the dinner table

while others enjoyed theirs by tv

watching the SC game.

After a few more rounds of cornhole

and sitting by the fire pit,

it was time to say goodbye.

New Years Eve

My hubby's side of the family came to our house for Christmas and New Years.

Since we were having the Hasbro Game Night New Years Eve, I decided to have party foods for supper.

We had Ham and Cheese Sliders, potato grillers, cheese sticks, soft pretzels, chips and dip, sausage balls and for dessert Paula Deen's Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

After supper, we opened gifts.

After presents, game night started.

After several rounds of  Draw Something and Catch Phrase, we headed outside for more fun.

We sat by the fire pit that my handy hubby built.

To end our night, we headed to the front for fireworks.

Looking forward to a great 2013!

Can't wait to see what God has planned for our family!

I need to find out where my sister gets her lipstick. It stayed on my daughter for 2 days. Mine is usually off within 10 minutes!
