Orlando

In summer's past, we have been used to traveling several times during the 2 and half months. Sadly, we were only able to fit in one very quick trip to Orlando this year. The worst part was I had 2 major projects due and 2 finals. 2 nights and 1 a long car ride home were spent on the computer. Not my idea of a vacation!

We did manage to squeeze in a little fun. Since Carmel had to work, the rest of us enjoyed a free day at Sea World.

We were sad Carmel could not come with us. Since it was his birthday, we decided to decorate the room before we left. We filled it with signs, streamer and balloons.

We ate at a nice restaurant in the hotel for his birthday dinner and came back to the room for cake.

The next day, we enjoyed a some pool time. The girls loved that the hotel had a water slide.

Although it was a very quick trip, it was nice to get away for a few days even if I did have to do school work at night.

1 child will no longer be a teenager next month….1 just turned into a teenager…..and one wishes she was a teenager!

A couple of weeks ago, our middle child turned into a teenager. Since she decided to redo her room for her birthday, the day was kept simple. She chose the plans for the evening which involved eating out, frozen yogurt and gifts at home.

This was taken the night before she turned 13.

She decided on Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

She wanted Kraze frozen yogurt instead of a cake.

Besides her room redo, she received money and a few other goodies for her birthday.

You will never guess what her favorite gift was……….

A kiss from both her mom and dad!!!!

Can't you see the joy on her face???

Family Fun!

Summer semester is finally over! YAY!!!!!  I felt like I have been trapped behind a computer for the past 2 months. I am so glad I have a little break from writing papers, reflecting and analyzing everything about education. Just a week and a half before I start my last semester of graduate school. I will be soooooo glad to finally finish!

I thought I would be able to enjoy a little downtime for the next 2 weeks…….and then……..we bought a trailer for my son while he's in school. This meant my 2 weeks of relaxing by the pool have turned into cleaning a trailer from top to bottom. This week will be spent painting all the rooms and cabinets, lining shelf paper, buying furniture, getting new carpet and organizing the place.  I am hoping to share our trailer redo in a later post.

For now,  I thought I would catch you up on the small amount of fun that took place this summer.

My sister came for a two week visit a few weeks ago. While she was here, we did as much as we could considering my time was limited.

We went swimming several times and to the park beside the pool.

We watched the movie Frozen at the amphitheater.

Emma did not make it through her favorite movie.
