We were happy.... happy....happy Saturday night......and that's a fact Jack!

Saturday, we went to Montgomery for Faulkner's Spring benefit. They have had a lot of top name people come speak at their benefits like Sarah Palin.....George and Laura Bush........coming up is even Bill O'Reilly.   They are all great intellectual and motivational speakers but  this year it was on like Donkey Kong!

If you haven't guessed it already, The speakers this year were Willie and Si from the hit tv show Duck Dynasty!

Faulkner University presents Duck Dynasty

It was the biggest redneck......camo wearing.....laid back benefit I have ever been too!

This family has been making their rounds speaking at several of the Christian schools. Faulkner did GOOD when they decided to have Si come to Montgomery. He CRACKS ME UP! He reminds me so much of my uncle except for the long beard.

My dad got tickets on the second row center stage. At first, the plans were for my parents, Carmel and I to go but my dad had extra tickets so the girls were thrilled when they found out they were going! Ella would have spent her own money for the chance to see them.

Willie spoke mostly in the beginning.

He answered the most commonly asked questions.

I have to say I was shocked at how quiet Si was in the beginning. He is never that quiet on the show! In the beginning he sat in his chair sipping his tea.

Once Willie gave him a chance to talk..........he had a lot to say!

When this man tells stories.......you never know where there heading or how they'll end!

He told us a about a hunting trip he took while he was in Germany. He was sitting in a deer stand smoking(he no longer smokes). The smoke would make a loop and head towards the ground. He did this several times before he heard a cough. He thought it was his friend returning but when he looked down.............it was a German deer coughing! His lesson learned........German deer do not like second hand smoke!

HEY!

And that's a fact.....Jack!

They ended the night telling the audience about Jesus.

There are not very many good wholesome family shows on tv these days......let a lone one that talks, quote scriptures and prays. This is one of the few that our whole family can sit down and enjoy together!

We were thrilled to have had the chance to see them speak.......just wish it could have been the whole gang!

After it was over, the girls went on stage to get their picture made in the same chairs Willie and Si sat.

If only these 2 had a mic.........Ooooo........the entertainment!

A visit to his first college!

I can't believe I am at the point in my life where we are looking at colleges for our first child. Time is passing way to quickly! We have just  a little over one year left before the number in our household drops..........and so does our bank account!

I am going to stop talking about this before I start to cry!

Instead.......I am going to share his first visit.

Our youth minister has planned a couple of trips for the youth to see Christian colleges.

Faulkner University was first.

After my parents picked up the girls for a day of fun, we met up with a couple of college students for a tour of the campus.

As we came into one building, we saw this big sign. I got excited because it was a reminder of where I will be this Saturday!

After the tour and lunch, we headed over to Apologetics Press for a tour.

If you are not familiar with Apologetics Press, they write and publish religious books, articles, etc. They have a wide range of material for all ages. They even offer a camp during the summer for kids. We have been and highly recommend it! You can go here http://www.apologeticspress.org/ to find out more information.

We headed back to Faulkner for Jamboree.

The social groups at Faulkner put on a show. We saw The Little Mermaid, Snow White and Hercules.

After a full day, it was time to go home.

The next college we plan to look at is Freed-Hardeman University.

Laney's most important decision!

This past Sunday, Laney decided to accept that Jesus is the Son of God and be baptized.

She is such an amazing young lady! So sweet and kind!
She will make a great worker for the Lord!

We are so proud of her!

This not what I meant when I said fold your clothes and put them away!

Looks innocent enough????

Until I noticed a little pink bag behind the table to the left.

After a little searching, I found this!

They were folded neatly and put away...........in a bag!

Now call me crazy.............
but I would have thought it was easier to toss them in the drawer than to do this!

This one is for my sis!

Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!

for doing the Disney Princess Half Marathon with me!

Hopefully she won't get mad at me for posting this video but I wanted you to know what NOT to do in preparation for a half marathon! Some of it couldn't be controlled......but some could!

Please keep in mind we had just finished the race so I am definitely not looking my best!

She forgot to add that she bought new shoes right before race day!
She had the blisters to prove it!

I am so proud of her!
She did AWESOME due to everything you just heard in the video!

I also want to give a shout out to my hubby for dragging 4 kids all over Disney to cheer us on!

Thank you!
I love you both!

Next up for me is another fun yet easier 5K race!

I will be doing The Color Run in April!

The last mile!

As we were about to come upon mile marker 13, we passed this tiny thing.

This was a huge clue that we were coming to the end!

The last mile was not as tough as I thought it would be. We were filled with so much excitement that we even ran just about all of the last 1.1 miles.

As we passed a lady probably in her late 70s, she overheard us saying we only had half a mile left. She looked up at us and said, "Really!!!! Only half a mile left!!!!"

We Did It!

After we crossed the finish line, we had fairy dust sprinkled over us and we received our princess metals.

I am now a princess!

We picked up our post race energy food box........

and met up with our family!

They had a Disney flower for us!

I loved doing this half marathon!!!!!

It was definitely packed with a lot of entertainment!
I can see myself doing this again next year except with both of my sisters and maybe even the hubs......................as long as he wears a shirt that says, " My wife is my princess!"

The only thing I would do differently is put in a better run time to be closer to the front. There were way to many people towards the back! A majority of them were the ones who wanted to walk the whole time. I refused to walk all of it since I had spent so much time training. We spent a lot of our time running on the side of the road or zig zagging through walkers. Which I did not like!!

I have to tell you I liked it so much........I may even try for a full.......one of these days!

Over half way there!

When I last left you, My sister and I were leaving Magic Kingdom and had hit the half way mark in the half marathon.

We hit several more mile markers.........

Around mile 8, we saw our family again.

Finished a 15K!

There were times on this road when it was.....how do I say this.....not as exciting as Magic Kingdom.
We found ways to fill the time!

There were a few things to see along the way like.......

more characters

and all the runners dressed up were a huge part of the entertainment!

This guy had a t-shirt that said, "My wife is my princess!"

Jasmine Sr.

The kids will enjoy this one!

We also saw several males with shirts that said, "Why are all these princesses after me?"

I will finish up next time with the last mile!

A short run through Magic Kingdom!

When I say a short run......I truly mean it!
We spent very little time running in Magic Kingdom. There was too many people trying to get through a narrow path. I didn't mind so much because I wanted to take plenty of pictures and video! Slowing the pace down just a little aloud me to do just that!

As we came around the corner to enter, My hubby and kids stood there cheering us on!

Some of you may know the excitement you feel when you enter Magic Kingdom and see the castle. The famous road where everyone takes a family photo. The high was 10 times better knowing you are running to it!

When you watch the video you will see my sister in the blue hat and Merida from Brave

We stopped for a picture with Alice.

As we rounded the corner, we saw the castle.

We received a very special invite into the castle.

You may have heard me say, "awww" in the video. I had just realized the huge line to see this special couple.

This was one of those times when we had to make do. Instead of standing in the long line, I stood to the side and my sister snapped the photo.

Knowing that we were close to leaving the park, I did not want to give up the next picture opportunity.

So we stood in line to see Cinderella and her Prince. As we got closer, I guess Cinderella had to get ready for the ball. They replaced her with Sleeping Beauty. I was disappointed but at least we got a picture with one of the princesses.

All I could think about during the picture was how the Prince was touching my sweaty shoulder. Hopefully, I didn't stink like some people we passed!

As we were leaving the Magic Kingdom, we were celebrating because we had finished a 10K!

AND

We reached this sign!
