Valentine's Devo

Last Sunday, we had the youth group over to our house for a devo. With it being only 2 days before Valentine's, I knew the theme had to be on love.

Everything was red, white and pink......including the desserts!

We had cake cups.

The bottom layer is strawberry cake topped with a layer of buttercream frosting. The next layer is red velvet cake topped with another layer of buttercream frosting. I finished it off with  sprinkles and a candy kiss.

I also had fresh strawberries dipped in white chocolate garnished with a few sprinkles.

I had to offer an arrangement of candy.

To wash all of those sweets down, I prepared God's Love Potion.

This punch is so yummy!

Griffin was voluntold to give the devo talk. His topic was ....of course.....on love. He did a wonderful job as always!

To let the youth know just how much they are loved, I sent each teen home with a goody.

These teens are the church's future. As adults, we must love and teach them God's way.

Baby Gift Idea

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, then I have a great idea for a baby present gift. Most mothers get plenty of clothes, some diapers and wipes but how about this......

A gift that will capture each month of growth!

At Hobby Lobby (this is the only place I have seen them so far), they have these stickers that can be placed on clothing. They come in both girl and boy colors. There are 12 stickers to capture from month 1 to month 12. I think they make a wonderful gift. Some moms are so busy taking care of their newborn they forget to take a monthly picture. These are a great reminder!

As you can see for this gift, I included a onesie, and a handmade tutu. Tutus are so easy to make. People would think it took you weeks to make it.

Now how cute would this look on a sweet 1 month old!

Sports Day!

We had Sports Day at school last week. We could support any team we wanted. There was no question who I would root for.

When it comes to sports, I am not the kind of mother who makes my child choose the same as me (okay maybe I encourage a little...wink...wink!).

Don't they look beautiful in orange and blue?

My son on the other hand has pretty much been forced to the other side. That is why you do not see him on here. This is an orange and blue only post!

Just kidding! I am not that type of mother (most days anyhow). He was mad at me this particular morning so no pictures was the revenge.

War Eagle!
